Bodyweight Standing Row

A steep row at the wall bars: hands on a rung at chest height, body leaning back on straight arms, chest pulled to the rung.

How to do it

Setup

Feet close to the wall bars, hands shoulder-width on a rung at chest height, body leaning back on straight arms.

Steps

  1. Pull the chest toward the rung, elbows past the ribs.
  2. Keep the body in one line from head to heels.
  3. Lower to straight arms with control.

Common mistakes

Hips bending as you pull: squeeze the glutes and keep the line. Shrugging toward the rung: blades down and back. Feet set too far from the bars for your strength: step them closer and the row gets easier.

Breathing

Exhale on the pull, inhale on the way down.
