Bodyweight Standing One-Arm Row

The wall-bar row with one hand on a rung in line with its shoulder, the free arm at the side; the body must not turn open away from the bars.

How to do it

Setup

Feet close to the bars, one hand on a rung at chest height, body leaning back on a straight arm, shoulders square.

Steps

  1. Pull the chest toward the hand, elbow past the ribs.
  2. Keep the free shoulder from turning away.
  3. Lower to a straight arm, then switch sides after the set.

Common mistakes

Rotating open toward the free side: the chest stays facing the bars. Hips folding: the body stays one line. Leaning back too far for one arm: step the feet closer.

Breathing

Exhale on the pull, inhale on the way down.
