Bodyweight Squatting Row

Holding a rung of the wall bars in a deep squat, lean back to long arms and row the chest toward the bars; a row with your own weight that needs only something sturdy to hold.

How to do it

Setup

Squatting low facing the wall bars, feet close to them, hands on a rung at chest height, leaning back on long arms.

Steps

  1. Row the chest toward the bars, elbows along the body.
  2. Squeeze the shoulder blades together at the top.
  3. Lean back to long arms with control.

Common mistakes

Standing up out of the squat to help: hips stay low. Rounding the back as you lean away: long spine, chest up. Dropping back fast: control the lean every rep.

Breathing

Exhale on the pull, inhale returning.
