Bodyweight Standing Close-Grip Row

The standing row at the wall bars with the hands together at the middle of the rung; the elbows stay tight along the body.

How to do it

Setup

Feet near the bars, both hands together on a rung at chest height, body leaning back on straight arms.

Steps

  1. Pull the chest to the hands, elbows brushing the ribs.
  2. Keep the heels down and the body straight.
  3. Straighten the arms slowly to the start.

Common mistakes

Elbows flaring out: the close grip keeps them in; let it. Hips dropping toward the floor: squeeze the glutes. Pulling the head toward the bars: the chest leads.

Breathing

Exhale on the pull, inhale on the way down.
