Bodyweight Standing One-Arm Row (with Towel)

The one-arm wall-bar row holding a towel looped over a rung; one hand on the loose towel holds the lean, so the grip works hard.

How to do it

Setup

A towel looped over a rung at chest height, both ends in one hand, body leaning back on a straight arm.

Steps

  1. Pull the chest toward the towel, elbow along the body.
  2. Crush the towel in the fist all the way up.
  3. Lower slowly to a straight arm, then switch.

Common mistakes

Towel slipping: hold both ends together and squeeze. Turning toward the free side: shoulders square to the bars. Too steep a lean for one hand: step closer to the bars.

Breathing

Exhale on the pull, inhale on the way down.
