Bodyweight Single-Leg Wall Squat
The wall squat on one leg, the other held straight out in front; the wall takes the balance so the standing thigh can work alone.
How to do it
Setup
Back on the wall, the standing foot a step in front of it, the other leg lifted straight, arms crossed at the chest.
Steps
- Slide down the wall on the standing leg as far as you control.
- Keep the lifted leg straight and off the floor.
- Press through the whole foot and slide back up.
Common mistakes
Standing foot too close to the wall: the knee runs far past the toes; step out. Dropping the free heel to help: keep it up. Hips twisting off the wall toward the free leg: both sides of the back stay on it.
Breathing
Inhale down, exhale up.
