Bent-Knee Side Plank

The side plank with the bottom knee in place of the feet; the lever is shorter, so the hold is easier to keep straight.

How to do it

Setup

On one forearm, elbow under the shoulder, knees bent and stacked, feet behind you.

Steps

  1. Lift the hips until the body is straight, head to knees.
  2. Hold the line without rolling forward or back.
  3. Set the hips down after the time; then the other side.

Common mistakes

Hips piking back behind the knees: push them forward into the line. Shoulder sinking into the elbow: press the forearm down. Chin dropping to the chest: keep the neck long.

Breathing

Steady throughout; never held.
