Bodyweight Incline Side Plank
The side plank with the upper body raised on a bench; the incline takes weight off the shoulder and makes the hold easier.
How to do it
Setup
Side-on to a bench, lower forearm or hand on it, feet stacked on the floor.
Steps
- Lift the hips off the floor into one line.
- Keep the shoulder stacked over the support.
- Hold for the time, then turn round for the other side.
Common mistakes
Feet too close to the bench: step them out until the body is straight. Hips sagging toward the floor: lift the waist to the ceiling. Chest leaning over the bench: shoulders stacked.
Breathing
Steady throughout; never held.
