Kettlebell Side Plank

The forearm side plank with a kettlebell locked out overhead on the top arm, the bell resting on the back of the forearm.

How to do it

Setup

Forearm side plank, feet stacked, the kettlebell locked out over the top shoulder, knuckles to the ceiling.

Steps

  1. Raise the hips into a straight line.
  2. Keep the wrist straight and the bell over the shoulder.
  3. Bring the bell down to the chest before lowering the hips; switch sides.

Common mistakes

Wrist bending back under the bell: knuckles up, forearm vertical. Losing the line as the bell wobbles: brace harder or take a lighter bell. Dropping the hips with the bell still overhead: bring it down first.

Breathing

Steady throughout; never held.
