Bar Band Down to Up Twist

A low-to-high twist in a split stance with a light bar tied to bands under the feet, the bar carried across the body.

How to do it

Setup

Split stance on the bands, the bar held in both hands low beside the hip, arms long.

Steps

  1. Turn the trunk and carry the bar up across the body to above the opposite shoulder, arms long.
  2. Keep both feet planted on the bands.
  3. Return along the same line to beside the hip under control.

Common mistakes

Lifting with the arms alone: the trunk turns and the arms stay long. Feet shifting off the bands: plant them before every set; a loose band snaps back. Jerking the bar up: a smooth diagonal both ways.

Breathing

Exhale on the upward sweep, inhale returning.
