Bent-Knee Lying Twist (On Stability Ball)
Lying with the calves on a stability ball and the arms out wide, the knees roll the ball to one side and back; the shoulders stay down.
How to do it
Setup
On your back, arms out wide on the floor, knees bent, calves resting on top of a stability ball.
Steps
- Roll the knees and the ball to one side.
- Stop before the far shoulder lifts off the floor.
- Pull the ball back through the middle and roll to the other side.
Common mistakes
Shoulder lifting as the knees drop: go only as far as both shoulders stay down. Calves sliding off the ball: keep them pressed onto it. Letting the ball roll away fast: control it both ways.
Breathing
Inhale lowering the knees, exhale bringing them back.
