Barbell Half-Kneeling Thor Lift
Half-kneeling, a bar is raised from the floor beside the back knee up across the body until it stands upright in front of the face.
How to do it
Setup
Half-kneeling, an empty bar on the floor beside the back knee, both hands on it near one end.
Steps
- Sweep the bar up and across the body as the chest turns.
- Finish with it upright in front of the face, one hand above the other.
- Lower it along the same diagonal back to the floor.
Common mistakes
Loading the bar: its length already makes it heavy; start with it empty. Letting it drift over the head: keep it in front of the face. Rising off the down knee: stay tall and still on it.
Breathing
Exhale on the upward sweep, inhale returning.
