Band Standing Single-Arm Row

One handle of a band anchored at chest height, rowed from a quarter squat with the torso square; the band pulls hardest at the finish.

How to do it

Setup

Facing the rack in a quarter squat, feet hip-width, the band's handle in one hand, arm long.

Steps

  1. Row the handle to the ribs without turning.
  2. Squeeze the blade where the band pulls hardest.
  3. Let the arm go forward slowly, then switch sides.

Common mistakes

Turning the torso to finish: that is the twist row; stay square. Standing up out of the quarter squat: the legs hold the base. Letting the band yank the arm: resist the return.

Breathing

Exhale on the row, inhale returning.
