Band Reverse Fly
The standing reverse fly against a band with handles anchored in front at shoulder height; the band pulls hardest where the arms open widest.
How to do it
Setup
Split stance facing a rack, a band with handles anchored at shoulder height, arms straight in front.
Steps
- Open the arms out to the sides until the hands pass the shoulders.
- Keep the arms straight and the ribs down.
- Let the band draw the arms back to the front slowly.
Common mistakes
Standing too close to the anchor: step back until the band is taut at the start. Bending the elbows to pull it through: keep them long; this is a fly, not a row. Arching the lower back as the arms open: keep the ribs down and the stance split.
Breathing
Exhale opening the arms, inhale bringing them back.
