Cable Incline Rear Delt Fly with Back Support
The crossed-cable rear delt fly with the back resting on an incline bench; the pad takes the torso out, so only the arms move.
How to do it
Setup
Leaning back on an incline bench facing the crossover, the cables crossed at shoulder height, each hand on the far handle, arms long in front.
Steps
- Open the straight arms out to the sides until they line up with the shoulders.
- Keep the back and head on the pad as the arms open.
- Let the cables bring the arms back across slowly.
Common mistakes
Pulling the shoulders off the pad to finish: the support is the point; lighter stack. Bending the elbows into a row: keep the arms long; this is a fly. Pulleys set above or below the shoulders: match them to shoulder height on the bench.
Breathing
Exhale opening the arms, inhale bringing them back.
