Cable Rear Delt Row (Parallel Bar)
The seated rear delt row on a wide bar with two parallel handles, palms facing in, pulled to the lower chest with the elbows flared.
How to do it
Setup
Seated on the row bench, feet on the platform, the parallel handles held wide with the palms in, arms long.
Steps
- Pull the handles to the lower chest, elbows flaring out and back.
- Squeeze the backs of the shoulders as the elbows pass the torso.
- Straighten the arms until the shoulders reach forward.
Common mistakes
Tucking the elbows to the sides: that is a close-grip back row; let them flare. Rocking back for momentum: keep the torso still over the hips; ease the stack. Bending the wrists to bring the bar in: keep them straight; the elbows do the traveling.
Breathing
Exhale on the row, inhale returning.
