Cable Standing Supinated Face Pull (With Rope)

The standing rope face pull with the palms turned UP on the rope; the underhand grip rolls the upper arms out as the hands finish beside the ears.

How to do it

Setup

Split stance facing a rope set at head height, palms up under its ends, arms long.

Steps

  1. Row the rope toward the eyes with the palms still facing up.
  2. Finish with the fists beside the ears, forearms pointing up.
  3. Straighten the arms slowly, the grip unchanged.

Common mistakes

Palms rolling down mid-pull: the underhand grip is the point; keep it. Elbows dropping below the shoulders: the pull slides into a row; lift them. Swaying back to drag the stack in: stay upright; take less weight.

Breathing

Exhale on the pull, inhale on the return.
