Band Rear Delt Row
The bent-over rear delt row against a band with handles stood on; the band pulls hardest as the elbows reach shoulder height.
How to do it
Setup
Feet hip-width on the middle of the band, hips hinged to about 45°, a handle in each hand, palms facing back.
Steps
- Row the handles up and out, elbows flaring to shoulder height.
- Squeeze the backs of the shoulders at the top for a beat.
- Lower the handles under control, back still flat.
Common mistakes
Standing up out of the hinge: the angle aims the pull at the rear delts; hold it. Elbows tucking to the sides: that is a back row; flare them. Rounding the lower back: hips back, chest proud.
Breathing
Exhale on the row, inhale lowering.
