Band Standing Rear Delt Row

The standing rear delt row against a band with handles fixed high on a rack; the hands finish at the top of the chest, below a face pull.

How to do it

Setup

Split stance facing a rack, a band with handles fixed above head height, arms reaching up and forward.

Steps

  1. Pull the handles down to the top of the chest, elbows spreading wide.
  2. Keep the upper arms level with the shoulders at the finish.
  3. Let the band draw the arms up and forward slowly.

Common mistakes

Elbows dropping as the band stretches: that turns it into a pulldown; keep them level with the shoulders. Rocking the hips back to help: the split stance stays still. Letting the band snap the arms back: return as slowly as you pulled.

Breathing

Exhale on the pull, inhale on the return.
