Band Close-Grip Row
Standing at a band anchored at chest height, the hands close together on the handle, rowed to the lower ribs with the elbows tight.
How to do it
Setup
Standing a step back from the anchor, knees soft, the handle held with the hands together, arms long.
Steps
- Row the handle to the lower ribs, elbows close to the sides.
- Squeeze the blades together as the hands reach the body.
- Return to long arms against the band's pull.
Common mistakes
Elbows flaring: the close grip keeps them along the ribs. Leaning back to finish: step back from the anchor instead. Rounding the shoulders forward on the return: the chest stays up.
Breathing
Exhale on the row, inhale returning.
