Walking High Knees Lunge
The walking lunge with a knee drive between steps: rise out of each lunge onto the front leg and lift the back knee to hip height before stepping through.
How to do it
Setup
Standing tall with a clear runway ahead, arms bent at the sides.
Steps
- Lunge forward until the back knee nears the floor.
- Stand up on the front leg and drive the back knee up to hip height.
- Step that foot forward into the next lunge.
Common mistakes
Skipping the knee drive when tired: every step rises into a knee lift. Feet landing in one line: step out hip-width for balance. Chest dropping into the lunge: stay tall from the lunge to the knee drive.
Breathing
Inhale into the lunge, exhale driving up.
