V-Up

Lying flat, raise straight legs and torso together, folding into a V and reaching your hands to your feet.

V-Up, illustrated

How to do it

Setup

Flat on your back, arms extended overhead, legs long.

Steps

  1. Raise the straight legs and torso together.
  2. Fold into a V, hands reaching for the feet.
  3. Lower both halves with control, not a collapse.

Common mistakes

One half rising first: the fold is simultaneous. Bending the knees to reach: shorter reach, straight legs. Slamming down: the lowering is half the rep.

Breathing

Exhale on the fold, inhale lowering.
