TRX Single-Leg Deadlift

The single-leg deadlift holding TRX handles at arm's length; the straps catch the balance, so the hinge can go deeper and slower.

How to do it

Setup

Facing the anchor, a handle in each hand with the arms straight, standing on one leg a step back from the anchor.

Steps

  1. Hinge forward, the free leg rising behind, arms staying straight.
  2. Go down until the torso and free leg are near horizontal.
  3. Stand by driving the hip forward, not by pulling on the straps.

Common mistakes

Pulling on the handles to stand: the straps only balance you. Straps slack: take up the slack before each rep. Hips opening toward the free leg: square them to the floor.

Breathing

Inhale hinging, exhale standing.
