Strongman Crucifix Hold
A weight in each hand held out to the sides on straight arms at shoulder height, the body forming a cross, for as long as the arms stay level.
How to do it
Setup
Standing tall, feet hip-width, a weight in each hand, arms raised out to the sides to shoulder height.
Steps
- Hold the arms straight and level with the shoulders, palms down.
- Keep the shoulders down and the ribs over the hips.
- End the hold the moment either arm drops below the shoulder; time it.
Common mistakes
Bending the elbows to ease the lever: arms straight; a bent arm is a different, easier hold. Hiking the shoulders toward the ears: keep them down, arms reaching long. Leaning back as the arms tire: stand tall and end the set instead.
Breathing
Steady throughout; never held.
