Stick Assisted Isometric Core
Half-kneeling with a stick held across the body while a partner pushes and pulls its far end, the trunk holds still and resists the turn.
How to do it
Setup
Half-kneeling, the stick held in both hands diagonally across the body, a partner standing to the side holding its top end.
Steps
- Brace the belly and set the stick firmly in both hands.
- Hold the trunk still while the partner pushes and pulls the stick in short bursts.
- Rest, then switch the front knee and the side.
Common mistakes
Twisting with the partner's push: the job is to stay still. Partner jerking the stick: steady, moderate pressure. Leaning the trunk to brace: stay tall over the back knee.
Breathing
Steady throughout; never held.
