Standing Toe Up Achilles Stretch

The ball of one foot up on a step, the heel down and the knee bent forward; the bend puts the stretch into the Achilles.

How to do it

Setup

Standing, the ball of one foot up on a step, its heel on the floor.

Steps

  1. Bend the front knee forward over the raised toes.
  2. Lean the body in until the lower calf stretches.
  3. Hold, then change feet.

Common mistakes

Straight front knee: that is the upper-calf version; bend it. Heel lifting off the floor: set the toes lower. Bouncing into the lean: ease in and hold.

Breathing

Slow and even through the hold.
