Leaning Heel Back Achilles Stretch

Leaning on a wall, one foot back with the heel down and the knee bent; the lean sets how deep the Achilles stretch goes.

How to do it

Setup

Facing a wall, hands on it, one foot behind the other, toes forward.

Steps

  1. Bend the back knee, heel still down.
  2. Lean in and lower the hips to deepen it.
  3. Hold, then switch legs.

Common mistakes

Straight back knee: that is the calf version; bend it. Heel lifting off: bring the back foot closer to the wall. Toes turned out: both feet point at the wall.

Breathing

Slow and even through the hold.
