Standing Pelvic Lift

Standing on one leg at the edge of a step, let the free hip drop, then lift it back to level with the standing hip.

How to do it

Setup

One foot on a low step, the other hanging beside it, knees straight, hands relaxed.

Steps

  1. Let the free side of the pelvis drop slowly.
  2. Lift it back up past level with the standing hip.
  3. Keep both knees straight; finish the side.

Common mistakes

Bending the standing knee to drop lower: both legs stay straight. Leaning the torso sideways: the pelvis moves, the shoulders stay level. Rushing the drop: slow down and up.

Breathing

Steady throughout; never held.
