Standing High Leg Bent-Knee Hamstring Stretch

Foot up on a high support with the knee bent, the chest leans in toward it; the bent knee lets the hip fold deep.

How to do it

Setup

Standing, one foot on a table or a bench about hip height, that knee bent.

Steps

  1. Stand tall on the other leg, hips square to the support.
  2. Lean the chest in toward the bent knee from the hips.
  3. Hold and breathe, then lower the leg and switch sides.

Common mistakes

Support so high the standing heel lifts: pick a lower one. Rounding the back to get the chest down: hinge from the hips. Hips twisting away from the raised leg: square them to it.

Breathing

Slow and even through the hold.
