Stall Bar Leg Raise

The hanging leg raise with the back against wall bars: the bars behind stop any swing, so the straight legs rise on the abs and hip flexors alone.

How to do it

Setup

Hanging from the top rung of wall bars, back against the bars, legs straight together.

Steps

  1. Raise the straight legs to horizontal.
  2. Keep the lower back against the bars.
  3. Lower the legs slowly to the hang.

Common mistakes

Kicking the legs up: a steady lift, the pelvis tilting up at the top. Knees bending as the set drags on: keep them straight or end the set. Shoulders shrugging to the ears: hang actively, the shoulders pulled down.

Breathing

Exhale on the raise, inhale lowering.
