Leg Raise (Bent Knee)
Lying on the back with the feet flat, lift one bent leg until the knee is over the hip, lower it and switch; the belly keeps the back still.
How to do it
Setup
Lying on the back, knees bent, feet flat, arms long by the sides, palms down.
Steps
- Lift one foot and bring the knee over the hip, the knee staying bent.
- Lower the foot back to the floor with control.
- Repeat with the other leg, alternating.
Common mistakes
Lower back arching as the leg rises: draw the belly in and keep the back on the floor. Dropping the foot: set it down softly. Pressing hard through the arms: they rest; the belly steadies you.
Breathing
Exhale lifting, inhale lowering.
