Spider Mountain Climber
The mountain climber with each knee driven to the outside of the same-side elbow; the hips turn a little and the obliques work harder.
How to do it
Setup
High plank, hands under the shoulders, body in one line.
Steps
- Bring one knee up outside the elbow on the same side.
- Return the foot and repeat with the other leg.
- Keep the shoulders over the hands the whole time.
Common mistakes
Hips swinging high to reach the elbow: a lower knee with a level plank beats height. Foot dragging along the floor: lift it clear. Shoulders drifting back: stay stacked over the hands.
Breathing
Exhale on each knee drive.
