Single-Leg Low Box Squat

The pistol squat down to a low box; the box caps the depth and catches a failed rep.

How to do it

Setup

On one leg before a low box, arms forward, the free leg straight out.

Steps

  1. Sit back and down on one leg to the box.
  2. Touch the box without relaxing.
  3. Stand on the same leg, arms reaching forward.

Common mistakes

Rocking off the box to stand: lean forward and push through the heel. Free foot touching down: keep it up. Box too low to control: raise it until each rep is clean.

Breathing

Inhale down, exhale up.
