Single-Leg Butt Kick

The butt-kick jump with only one heel snapping to the glutes while the other leg stays long; switch the kicking leg halfway.

How to do it

Setup

Feet hip-width, knees soft, arms bent in front.

Steps

  1. Dip and jump straight up.
  2. Kick one heel to the glutes, the other leg straight beneath you.
  3. Bring the foot down and land on both feet, knees soft.

Common mistakes

Landing on the straight leg alone: bring the kicking foot down and land on both. Twisting in the air: hips and shoulders face forward. Heel stopping short of the glutes: snap it all the way up.

Breathing

Exhale on the jump, inhale landing.
