Single-Arm Hanging Toes to Bar

Toes to bar hanging from one hand; the single grip adds a fight against the body turning under the bar.

How to do it

Setup

Dead hang from one hand, shoulder engaged, the free hand on the thigh or behind the back, legs together.

Steps

  1. Brace and raise the straight legs until the toes touch the bar.
  2. Keep the hips square to the bar as the legs rise.
  3. Lower the legs slowly back to a still hang.

Common mistakes

Body spinning under the hand: slow the lift and brace the free side. Hanging on a passive shoulder: pull it down from the ear before each rep. Swinging into the next rep: stop the swing at the bottom first.

Breathing

Exhale on the raise, inhale lowering.
