Side Step Front Plank
The forearm plank with the feet stepping out to the side and back in one at a time; the quiet, stepped cousin of the plank jack.
How to do it
Setup
On the forearms and toes, feet together, hips level with the shoulders.
Steps
- Step one foot out wide to the side.
- Step it back in, then step the other foot out.
- Keep the hips level and still as the feet move; time it.
Common mistakes
Hips swaying toward the stepping foot: brace so the trunk stays still. Jumping the feet: step them one at a time. Hips piking up to make the step easy: keep the line flat.
Breathing
Steady throughout; never held.
