Forward Step Front Plank

The forearm plank with the feet stepping a short way forward and back one at a time, the hips held level as the base shifts.

How to do it

Setup

Forearm plank, elbows under the shoulders, feet together on the toes, body in one line.

Steps

  1. Step one foot a short way forward, the knee softening.
  2. Step it back and repeat with the other foot.
  3. Keep stepping for the set with the hips level; time it.

Common mistakes

Hips rising as a foot steps in: keep the line from head to heels. Big lunging steps: short steps keep the plank intact. Rushing the rhythm: slow steps, the trunk still.

Breathing

Steady throughout; never held.
