Side Lying Outward Knee Kick
Lying on your side on one forearm, the top knee draws in, then the leg kicks out long and up to the side.
How to do it
Setup
On your side, propped on the forearm, legs long and stacked.
Steps
- Draw the top knee in toward the chest.
- Kick the leg out long and up to the side.
- Lower it onto the other leg; finish the side.
Common mistakes
Rolling back as the leg kicks: hips stacked, chest forward. Kicking toward the ceiling from the lower back: the hip lifts the leg. Flopping the leg down: lower it with control.
Breathing
Exhale on the kick, inhale drawing in.
