Side Bridge (Bent Knee)

A side plank on a straight arm with the top knee drawn forward toward the chest and pushed back, the hips held high.

How to do it

Setup

Side plank on a straight arm, the hand under the shoulder, feet staggered, the top hand on the hip.

Steps

  1. Draw the top knee forward toward the chest.
  2. Keep the hips lifted and the supporting arm straight.
  3. Push the leg back to straight; switch sides after the set.

Common mistakes

Hips dropping as the knee comes in: keep them up in the line. Torso rolling toward the floor: keep the chest facing forward. Supporting elbow bending: lock the arm and push the floor away.

Breathing

Exhale drawing the knee in, inhale extending.
