Serratus Wall Slide
Facing a wall with the forearms on it, slide them up while pressing into the wall, so the shoulder blades glide up and around the ribs.
How to do it
Setup
Facing a wall, forearms on it at shoulder height and shoulder-width apart, feet a small step back.
Steps
- Press the forearms lightly into the wall.
- Slide them up as far as the shoulders allow, the blades gliding around the ribs.
- Slide back down to shoulder height.
Common mistakes
Forearms coming off the wall on the way up: keep pressing into it. Shrugging toward the ears: shoulders down, neck long. Lower back arching to reach higher: stop where the ribs stay down.
Breathing
Exhale sliding up, inhale coming down.
