Resistance Band Serratus Wall Slide with Foam Roll
The forearms push a foam roller up a wall to overhead and back, a flat band around the wrists keeping them pressing apart; the serratus and the upper back guide the blades.
How to do it
Setup
Facing a wall, a foam roller held flat against it by the forearms at face height, a flat band looped around both wrists.
Steps
- Press the wrists out into the band and roll the forearms up the wall.
- Reach until the arms are nearly straight overhead, ribs down.
- Roll back down to face height, still pushing the band apart.
Common mistakes
Shrugging as the arms rise: let the shoulder blades glide up and around, not the neck. Letting the band pull the wrists together: keep the forearms parallel. Arching the lower back to reach higher: stop where the ribs stay down.
Breathing
Exhale sliding up, inhale sliding down.
