Resistance Band Serratus Wall Slide
The serratus wall slide with a small loop band around the wrists; keeping the band taut while the forearms slide up makes the shoulders work harder to hold their line.
How to do it
Setup
Facing a wall, forearms on it at shoulder height and shoulder-width apart, a mini loop band around the wrists, one foot a step back.
Steps
- Press the forearms into the wall and slide them up, keeping the band taut.
- Let the shoulder blades glide up and around the ribs at the top.
- Slide back down to shoulder height without letting the band go slack.
Common mistakes
Shrugging the shoulders to the ears: the blades glide, the neck stays long. Wrists drifting together: push out against the band all the way. Arching the lower back to reach higher: ribs down, stop where the back stays flat.
Breathing
Exhale sliding up, inhale coming down.
