Kettlebell Angled Press

A press made in a hip hinge: one kettlebell held bottoms-up by the horns and pushed forward and up in line with the back.

How to do it

Setup

Hinged forward with soft knees and a flat back, one kettlebell held bottoms-up by the horns at the chest.

Steps

  1. Press the bell forward and up in line with the back until the arms are straight.
  2. Keep the hinge still; only the arms and the shoulder blades move.
  3. Draw the bell back to the chest under control.

Common mistakes

Rising out of the hinge as the bell goes out: keep the torso angle fixed. Rounding the back under the reach: keep it flat from the hips to the head. Letting the bell tip in the hands: grip the horns firmly and keep it upright.

Breathing

Exhale pressing, inhale returning.
