Inverted against a wall, lower until the head touches and press back up; bodyweight overhead pressing at its hardest.

Handstand Push-Up, illustrated

How to do it

Setup

Kick up to a handstand against a wall, hands shoulder-width, body tight.

Steps

  1. Lower until the head touches the floor or a pad.
  2. Keep the elbows tracking ~45°.
  3. Press back to the full handstand.

Common mistakes

Attempting before pike push-ups are strong: the progression exists; respect it. Banana back against the wall: ribs in, glutes tight. Crashing the head down: a pad and a slow negative.

Breathing

Inhale lowering, exhale pressing.
