Seated Knee Flexor Stretch

Seated with the legs long and together, fold forward from the hips and hold the feet; the backs of the thighs and the calves stretch.

How to do it

Setup

Seated on the floor, legs straight and together, toes pointing up, back tall.

Steps

  1. Hinge forward from the hips, reaching the hands along the legs.
  2. Take hold of the feet and let the chest settle toward the thighs.
  3. Hold and breathe, then roll up slowly.

Common mistakes

Rounding the upper back to reach the feet: hinge at the hips; hold the shins if the feet are far. Knees lifting: keep the backs of the knees down. Bouncing toward the toes: settle a little deeper on each exhale instead.

Breathing

Slow and even through the hold.
