Ring Elevated Pike Push-Up from Deficit

The pike push-up with the feet on a box and the hands on low rings, so the head can sink below the hands; the deficit and the loose rings make it an advanced press.

How to do it

Setup

Feet on a box, hips piked high, hands on two rings hanging just above the floor, arms straight.

Steps

  1. Bend the elbows and lower the head below the level of the hands.
  2. Hold the rings still and the hips high.
  3. Press back to straight arms.

Common mistakes

Rings swinging apart as you lower: grip hard and keep them under the shoulders. Sinking deeper than you can press out of: build the depth a little at a time. Hips dropping into a push-up: keep the pike; the shoulders do the pressing.

Breathing

Inhale lowering, exhale pressing.
