Ring Alternate Superman

Leaning forward on a pair of rings in a straight plank, reach one arm forward overhead at a time while the other holds.

How to do it

Setup

Rings hanging low, a hand in each, body leaning forward in one straight line from the head to the feet, arms bent under the chest.

Steps

  1. Reach one ring forward overhead until the arm is straight.
  2. Hold the plank line as the body leans into the reach.
  3. Bring it back under the chest and reach with the other arm.

Common mistakes

Hips sagging as the arm reaches: brace; the body stays one line. Rings drifting apart: keep the holding ring under the shoulder. Leaning too far for your strength: walk the feet forward, away from the anchor, to stand more upright.

Breathing

Exhale on the reach, inhale returning.
