Reverse Plank on Elbows

The reverse plank on the forearms instead of the hands; the body sits lower, the shoulders do less and the trunk holds the line.

How to do it

Setup

Seated, legs long, elbows under the shoulders behind you, forearms and heels down.

Steps

  1. Press the forearms down and lift the hips into one line.
  2. Keep the chest open and the glutes tight.
  3. Hold, then sit the hips down between sets.

Common mistakes

Hips dipping below the line: squeeze the glutes and lift. Shoulders shrugging toward the ears: press the forearms down and the chest up. Heels sliding forward: plant them and keep the legs long.

Breathing

Steady throughout.
