Resistance Band Standing Single-Arm Shoulder Flexion

A one-arm front raise against a looped band anchored at hip height behind; the band pulls hardest as the arm reaches shoulder height.

How to do it

Setup

Standing with the back to an anchor at hip height, a flat looped band in one hand at the side, the band taut.

Steps

  1. Raise the straight arm forward to shoulder height.
  2. Hold the hand level with the shoulder for a beat.
  3. Lower it slowly against the band; switch arms after the set.

Common mistakes

Leaning forward to ease the band: stand tall over the feet. Bending the elbow as the band tightens: a long arm. Letting the band snap the arm back: lower it slowly.

Breathing

Exhale on the raise, inhale lowering.
