Sitting Swimmer on a Chair
Seated tall on a chair, the straight arms circle in turn like a swimmer's stroke, one rising overhead as the other comes down.
How to do it
Setup
Seated near the front of a chair, back tall, feet flat, arms at the sides.
Steps
- Raise one straight arm up the front to overhead as the other stays low.
- Bring it down the front as the other arm rises, so the arms take turns.
- Keep the circles big and even and the trunk tall.
Common mistakes
Slumping into the chair back: sit tall at the front of the seat. Bending the elbows to shorten the circle: long arms all the way round. Rushing into a flail: a steady rhythm, both arms the same.
Breathing
Steady with the rhythm.
